How to Build a Solid Team

I think there is a concept that may be overlooked in the network marketing industry. It has to do with making a transformation instead of a quick transaction with your prospects. If you want the team you build to stick, so to speak, and not quit, you have to make a transformation in their life and not just make a simple transaction. In most sales or retail jobs, there is one motive and that is to make a transaction. This means the customer finds what they are looking for, buys and leaves. The store has made a sale, nothing more. Hopefully you are not duplicating the same process in your network marketing business. If you are, your business may be heading in the wrong direction and some things need to change. This business is not about you, it’s about other people and building relationships. It’s about making a connection and helping them achieve their goals. We are in the business of transforming others lives and trying to make a difference. My business mission is “Making a World of Difference, One Life at a Time.” It may be simple, but it explains why I’m in the business, to make a difference.
To be honest, network marketing is not rocket science and there is not a magic pill to succeed. They make it much harder than what it needs to be. The key is to listen, listen, and listen more. Not only listen, but be genuinely interested in what others are saying. We were given one mouth and two ears for a reason. If you don’t ask questions and completely listen to the answers you will have no idea how you can help them and truly transform their life. If all you do is talk and “sell” your opportunity, you will only get a transaction if they decide to move forward. You have essentially talked them into it like a car salesman. They will more than likely think about what they have just been talked into over the next couple of days or weeks and quit. If this is the duplication process, your business is not going to move forward.
Remember, the more you give other people what they want, the more you get of what you want.
